The Mansa Wedding

Y’all, let me tell you guys about the Mansa wedding on a cloudy June summer day in Texas.

Meami (Her father, May he Rest In Peace, gave her that name because it came to him in a dream) and Christopher Mansa (An uprising Actor) had decided to tie the knot at The Flying V Ranch Venue. Aside from this venue being stunning due to it’s vast acres of land and architectural sights, we had the fear of possible rain and heavy thunderstorms. Every brides dream! (Insert sarcasm here).

Upon my arrival it had started to sprinkle a bit so I got all the details and getting ready shots indoors. The grass wasn’t too wet and the venue has so much gravel (thankfully) that there wasn’t any mud to ruin a certain stunning white dress. Chris was excited with all the confidence in the world in his custom olive suit and Meami was nervous and calm while getting ready in hopes that the weather wouldn’t ruin her big day.

You won’t believe me when I tell you what happened next. It was literally a movie and it felt like divine timing. It was time for Chris to walk up to the alter to await his lovely bride. The clouds were rolling in BUT SO WAS CHRIS! (Figuratively, lol) Chris was busting dance moves and poses while approaching the ceremony site. Everyone was cheering, clapping and snapping photos of him like paparazzi! He was living for the moment. Once the maid of honor and groomsman were in their spots it was the brides time to shine. Let me set the scene for you. SnohAlegra’s song “Do for love” comes on, the clouds are grey, the crowd is silent, everyones dying to see the bride. The doors open at the exact time that the sun peeks through on Meami’s white dress. SHE’S LITERALLY SHINING while walking down the isle. The sun is fully out and everything is consumed by light and warmth. Chris breaks down in tears as he see’s his bride. Not a single person in the room without a smile from ear to ear witnessing this incredible moment.

The pastor speaks the word of God onto them and it feels like service on a sweet Sunday morning. I teared up because I felt His presence there and his blessing on their marriage. I thought to myself, “look at God and how he orchestrated this. All in his divine timing.” I start to record a little portion of the vows as they intensified with emotions. Meami wrote “If he’s the one, show him.Four weeks later you asked me out on our first date, August 23rd 2020. One hundred weeks after that we were engaged, June 23rd 2022. And exactly 360 days later, here we are and every single day in between has been the best day of my life”. She prayed to God for confirmation about Chris, and He delivered. They shared the most heart felt vows I had ever heard, along with various tears and lots of laughs all throughout their wedding.

This day was a special one for me as well solely because I got to bare witness and be reminded of how powerful and wholesome love is. The Mansa’s will forever hold a special place in my heart.
